# Start from a template > Make a new activity or interaction from a saved starting point, then change it as you like. A template is a starting point: a whole activity, or one interaction, that you or your colleagues saved. Starting from one gives you your own copy. Nothing you change in the copy changes the template. ## From the Templates page 1. Go to **Configuration › Templates**. 2. Choose a library from the tabs at the top: - **Mine**: your own starting points. Only you see them. - your workspace's name: shared with everyone in that workspace. - your organisation's name: offered to every author in your organisation. - **Taktyl**: the starting points Taktyl gives every organisation. 3. Narrow the list if you need to. Press a **Type** chip (such as **Activities** or **Quiz**), pick a tag from **All tags**, or type in **Search templates…**. 4. On the template's card, open its **⋯** menu and choose **Make an activity from it** or **Make an interaction from it**. Your copy opens in the editor. It is yours, in **My activities**, and it is a draft until you publish it. ## While you make something new You can also start from a template without leaving **My activities**: - Press **New activity**. Under **Start from**, choose **A template**, pick one under **Pick a template**, then press **Create**. - Switch to **Interactions** and press **New interaction**. Choose the type, then under **Start from** choose **A template**, pick one, and press **Create and open**. ## What comes with the copy An activity template brings its pages, cover, finish screen and settings. An interaction template brings the interaction as it was saved. Results, links and versions never come with it: your copy starts fresh. Each card shows how many times the template has been used.
