Share an activity: a link, an embed or a QR code
Copy the activity's link, put it inside another page, or print a QR code. Choose live or frozen.
Once an activity is published, Share gives you its address in three forms. If it has never been published, Share says Nothing to share yet and offers Publish: students never see a draft.
Share it
- Open the activity and select Share at the top right.
- Under Which version students get, choose:
- Live: follows every Publish. Send it once; the address never changes, and students always get your newest version.
- Frozen at version (the newest number): stays on that version even after you publish again. Right for a test that must not change.
- Choose how to share it:
- Link: select Copy and paste it in an email, a course page or a message.
- Embed: select Copy embed code and paste it into an LMS page or a website.
- QR code: select Save QR code for a slide, a handout or the wall.
- Select Done.
Every version at the foot lists each version with when it was published and by whom. Copy link gives you the frozen link to that one version.
What students meet
When a student opens the link, Taktyl asks for their email address and sends them a sign-in link. They select it, choose Sign in, and land on the activity. A sign-in lasts for their session.
Inside an embed, students sign in and answer in a new window: the embedded page offers Open in a new window.
If you set Opens and Closes on the Settings tab, the link follows them: before it opens students see Not open yet, and after it closes they see what After it closes says (closed, read only, or keep working). A change to the dates reaches them at once.
Stop sharing
Choose Take down… in the three-dot menu. Every link, live or frozen, and every embed stops working. Publishing again opens the same links.
If you are signed in to your organisation and open your own link, you see the activity, but nothing you answer is recorded. To try it as a student would, use Preview.
