# Save, edit and share templates > Turn an activity or interaction into a template, then edit, tag, export or remove it. Save something as a template when you will want to start from it again, or when colleagues could use it too. ## Save one from your own work 1. Open the **⋯** menu of an activity (on **My activities** or in the activity itself) or of an interaction (in its editor). 2. Choose **Save as a template**. 3. Give it a **Template name**. 4. Under **Which library**, choose where it goes: **Mine**, your workspace, or your organisation. A library you cannot add to says why. 5. Add **Tags** if they help people find it, such as "Revision" or "Week 1". 6. Press **Save as a template**. The template is a copy. Changes you make to the original later do not change it. ## Make one from scratch On **Configuration › Templates**, open a library and press **New template**. Choose **A whole activity** or **One interaction** (and its **Type**), then press **Open in the editor**. It goes into the library you had open. ## Edit a template On the template's card, open the **⋯** menu: - **Edit template** opens it in the normal editor. A band says it is a template and which library it is in. There is no Publish or Share here: a template never reaches students. - **Edit name and tags** changes how it is listed. ## Share it as a file - **Export as a file** downloads a .taktyl file. - **Import** on the Templates page brings one in. Taktyl shows what will come in before anything is made, and asks what to do when a template has the same name as one of yours. ## Remove a template Choose **Remove from templates** on the **⋯** menu. It goes to the Bin, where you can restore it. Everything already made from it stays as it is, because each one is its own copy. ## Who can change what You can change your own templates in **Mine**. Anyone working in a workspace can change its templates. Only organisation admins can change the organisation's. Taktyl's own templates cannot be changed, but anyone can start from them.
