# Connect your LMS with a registration address > Paste one address into Canvas, Moodle, Brightspace or another LMS, and it registers Taktyl itself. Most LMSs can register Taktyl themselves. You copy one address from Taktyl and paste it into your LMS, and the LMS does the rest: there is nothing to type back into Taktyl. This is called dynamic registration. It works with Canvas, Moodle, D2L Brightspace and most other LMSs that support LTI 1.3. You need to be an organisation admin in Taktyl, and you need someone who can open the admin settings of your LMS. Your plan must include LMS integrations. ## Copy the address from Taktyl 1. Go to **Organisation › Integrations** and open **LMS connections**. 2. Press **Register from your LMS**. 3. Choose your **LMS** from the list. The steps under the address change to match it. 4. Press **Copy** beside **Registration address**. The address is made for your organisation and that LMS only. It works for 24 hours. If it runs out, open the page again and copy a new one. ## Paste it into your LMS **Canvas** 1. Go to **Admin**, choose your account and open **Developer Keys**. 2. Press **+ Developer Key**, choose **LTI Registration**, and paste the address where Canvas asks for it. 3. Finish Canvas's own steps. A small window says "Taktyl is connected". 4. Back in **Developer Keys**, switch the new Taktyl key **On**. Canvas makes every new key Off. 5. In **Admin** or a course's **Settings**, open **Apps**, press **+ App**, choose **By Client ID** and paste the key's Client ID, so courses can use it. **Moodle** 1. Go to **Site administration**, then **Plugins › Activity modules › External tool › Manage tools**. 2. Paste the address into **Tool URL** and press **Add LTI Advantage**. 3. Press **Activate** on the new Taktyl tool, so teachers can add it to a course. **D2L Brightspace** 1. Open **Admin Tools › Manage Extensibility**, then the **LTI Advantage** tab, and press **Register Tool**. 2. Choose **Dynamic**, paste the address as the tool initiation registration endpoint, tick **Configure Deployment** and press **Register**. 3. Open the new deployment and choose the org units that may use Taktyl. **Another LMS** Look for an LTI 1.3 registration screen that takes a URL. Some LMSs call it **LTI Advantage** or **dynamic registration**. Paste the address there. ## When it is done The connection appears under **LMS connections** in Taktyl, with your LMS's issuer, Client ID and deployment. Teachers can now add Taktyl activities from their courses, and marks can go to the gradebook. Taktyl asks your LMS for only what it uses: the gradebook, and each student's own opening and closing dates for an activity. It does not ask for your class lists. Registering again from the same LMS keeps the same connection and adds the new deployment to it. ## If it does not finish The small window says why. The usual reasons: - **The address has expired.** Copy a new one and paste it again. - **Your plan no longer includes LMS integrations.** See **Organisation › Billing**. - **The LMS is already connected to another organisation in Taktyl.** Ask your LMS administrator for a separate deployment. - **Blackboard Learn.** Not every Blackboard finishes this. Use **Connect another LMS** instead, with your deployment ID. See [Connect Moodle, Blackboard, Brightspace or another LMS](/support/articles/connect-another-lms). For Canvas you can also use **Connect Canvas**, which makes a configuration address and asks for the Client ID. See [Connect Canvas](/support/articles/connect-canvas).
