# Preview an activity as a student > Try the whole activity, or one interaction, exactly as students meet it. Nothing is saved. Preview shows your work as students will meet it, in their theme, before or after you publish. It shows what you are editing now, including changes you have not published yet. ## Preview a whole activity 1. Open the activity. 2. Select **Preview** at the top right. It opens in a new tab. 3. Go through it as a student would: the cover and **Start**, each page with **Next** (or **Back** on a content page), then the finish screen with the score. The bar across the top says **Preview. This is what a student sees; nothing is saved.** Select **Back to editing** to return. What you will notice: - A practice page says **Practice: this page is not in your score.** - A page with **Finish it before Next** switched off shows **Skip this page**. - The finish screen shows the score, and each page's score if you chose to show them, then your conclusion. - You can always try again in a preview, whatever the **Attempts allowed** setting says. ## Preview one interaction - In the interaction's editor, select **Preview** at the top. - On an activity's **Activity** tab, select an interaction page, then **Try it**. - For a word game, select **Try it** in the panel on the right. ## Preview is not counted Nothing you answer in a preview is recorded. It never appears in **Insights**, never counts as a student, and never sends a mark to an LMS. To check what students actually have, remember that the published version can be older than your preview. If the header says **Unpublished changes**, select **Publish changes** first.
