Make your first activity, from a blank page to a link
Create an activity, add a quiz to it, try it, publish it and copy its link.
This walk-through takes you from nothing to a link your students can open. It takes about ten minutes.
- On the Dashboard, select New activity. A panel opens on the right.
- Type a Title. This is what students see at the top of the activity. Leave Folder as it is and Start from on Blank, then select Create. The new activity is a draft: students cannot open it until you publish.
- On My activities, select the activity's title to open it, then the Activity tab.
- Select Add a page. Under Build a new one, choose Quiz. In the next panel, give the quiz a Name and select Create and open. The quiz goes on a new page at the end of your activity, and its editor opens.
- Select Add to this quiz, then Multiple choice. Type the question in What you ask, type the options, and tick the right one. Add as many questions as you like. Everything saves by itself a moment after you stop typing.
- Open the Used in 1 activity tab and select your activity's title to go back to it.
- Select Preview at the top right. Your activity opens in a new tab exactly as a student meets it. Nothing you answer there is saved.
- Select Publish. If something would stop students using the activity, such as a question with no right answer, Taktyl lists it instead. Fix each one and select Publish again.
- Select Share, then Copy beside the link. Paste the link wherever your students look: an email, a course page or a slide.
From now on, when you change the activity, its header says Unpublished changes. Students keep the version you published until you select Publish changes.
To put the activity in your LMS instead, see the guides under Your LMS.
