# Connect Canvas > Link your Canvas to Taktyl in two steps, so teachers can add activities to their courses and marks go to the gradebook. Connecting Canvas lets teachers add Taktyl activities to their courses. Students open them inside Canvas, and marks can go to the Canvas gradebook. You need to be an organisation admin in Taktyl, and you need someone who can open the Admin settings in Canvas. Keep Canvas open in another tab while you work. There are two ways. The steps below make a configuration address and ask for the Client ID. Or Canvas can register Taktyl itself from one address: see [Connect your LMS with a registration address](/support/articles/register-from-your-lms). ## Start the connection in Taktyl 1. Go to **Organisation › Integrations**. 2. Press **Connect Canvas**. 3. Give it a **Name** if you like, such as "Canvas production". This is only for you. 4. Press **Start the connection**. The connection now shows "Waiting for its Client ID". Its card has two values, each with a **Copy** button: the **Configuration address** and **Redirect URIs**. ## Make a Developer Key in Canvas 1. In Canvas, go to **Admin › Developer Keys › + Developer Key › LTI Key**. 2. Set **Configure Method** to **Enter URL** and paste the **Configuration address**. 3. Paste the **Redirect URIs** value into its own box. It must be exactly this address. 4. Save the key and switch it **On**. 5. Copy its Client ID. It is the number in the **Details** column. ## Finish in Taktyl, then in Canvas 1. Back on **Organisation › Integrations**, paste the number into **Client ID** on the connection's card. 2. Press **Save and connect**. The card now says "Connected". 3. In Canvas, go to **Settings › Apps** and add the app **By Client ID** with the same number, so courses can use it. Teachers can now add a Taktyl activity from a Canvas module or assignment. The card shows when Taktyl was last opened from this Canvas. If you ever need to change the number, paste the new one and press **Save Client ID**.
