Check or disconnect an LMS connection
See whether a connection is working, and what happens when you disconnect it.
Every LMS connection has its own card on Organisation › Integrations. The card tells you how it is doing, and it is where you disconnect it.
Is it working?
Under the connection's name, the card says one of these:
- Waiting for its Client ID: a Canvas connection that is not finished yet. Paste the Client ID from Canvas and press Save and connect.
- Connected, with the time it was last opened from the LMS. "never" means nobody has opened Taktyl through it yet.
Every night Taktyl checks that it can still read each LMS's public key set. If it cannot, the card says Not working at the last nightly check, with the reason. Check the Public key set (JWKS) URL in your LMS. Organisation admins are also told in their notifications when a connection starts failing.
Disconnect
- Press Disconnect on the connection's card.
- Read the box, then press Disconnect to confirm.
What happens:
- Links to Taktyl in that LMS's courses stop opening, and no more marks are sent.
- Accounts, attempts and marks already in Taktyl stay.
- It does not go to the Bin. Disconnecting is final.
If you connect the same LMS again later, its people are found again, so students keep their work.
