# AI marking insights > On Review, your organisation's own AI provider reads a student's written answers, without their name, and suggests what to look at and a first draft of feedback. It never gives a mark. **AI marking insights** helps you give feedback on written answers: essays and short answers. On a student's Review page, press **Get AI suggestions**, and your organisation's AI provider reads their written answers beside the questions. It suggests a short summary, strengths, things to check and a first draft of feedback. It never gives a mark: the mark is yours. A sentence that gives one anyway is left out, and the panel says so. ## What is sent, and what is not - **Sent**: each written answer and its question, numbered Q1, Q2 and so on, to your organisation's own AI provider, under your organisation's account and key. Taktyl has no AI account of its own. - **Never sent**: the student's name, email or any number that identifies them, the activity's or course's name, other students' answers, and answers to questions Taktyl marks itself. If a student wrote their own name in an answer, it is replaced with "[the student]" before it is sent. - Nothing is sent until you press the button. Nothing is kept: the suggestions are on your screen only. ## Use it 1. Open the activity's **Review** tab and choose a student, or open their work from your LMS's gradebook. 2. Press **Get AI suggestions**. It reads their newest finished attempt. 3. Read the suggestions. **Put in feedback box** copies the draft into the feedback box, where you change it as you like. 4. Give your mark and press **Save** (or **Send** in your LMS's review). Nothing is saved, sent to your LMS or shown to the student until you do. AI can be wrong: check every suggestion against the answers. ## Switch it on (organisation admins) 1. Connect **Your own AI provider** on **Organisation › Integrations**. 2. In **Organisation settings › Features**, switch on **AI marking insights**. It is off until you do. If the panel says it still needs your AI provider, the provider is not connected, is disabled, or is switched off. Switched off, the panel is not shown at all.
