# Change your name or email address

> Your profile holds the name and email address Taktyl shows and writes to.

Your **Profile** holds your name and your email address. Your name is what other people in your organisation see, and your email address is where Taktyl writes to you and the address you sign in with.

1. Select your name at the foot of the rail to open your account menu.
2. Choose **Profile**.
3. Change **Name**, **Email address**, or both.
4. Select **Save**. A message says **Profile updated.**

## When you change your email address

Your new address needs confirming before you can use all of Taktyl again. Under the address, the page says **Your email address is unverified.** Select **Click here to re-send the verification email**, then open the email at your new address and follow its link.

## Email preferences

Under your details, **Email preferences** says what Taktyl may email you about beyond the messages every account gets, such as sign-in links and the email when your password changes. Each switch saves as soon as you change it.

- **Invitations**: an email when you are invited to an organisation. Turned off, the invitation still waits for you under **Notifications and Feedback**, where you can accept or decline it.
- **Feedback updates**: when you send feedback, **Email me about this** starts ticked, so the Taktyl team's replies come to your inbox. Messages you have already sent keep their own choice, which you can change on each one under **Notifications and Feedback**.
- **What's new, once a month**: one short email after each month ends, about what changed in Taktyl.

## Other account pages

Your account has more tabs across the top of the page:

- **Security** for your password, your second sign-in step and your passkeys.
- **Danger zone** to download your own data or delete your account.

The look of Taktyl (System, Light or Dark) is not here: choose it from the **Appearance** menu in the top bar.
