Delete your account

What happens to your sign-in and to your work when you delete your account, and how to do it.

Deleting your account is final. Read what happens first, and download your own data if you would like a copy. See "Download your own data".

What happens

Your sign-in, your name, your email address and your second sign-in step are removed.
If you are the only person in your organisation, the organisation is closed.
In an organisation that stays open, your activities, interactions, folders and your own files go to one of its Organisation Admins. Nothing you made is deleted.
The record of what you did stays, without your name, so the organisation can still account for it.

If you are the only Organisation Admin of an organisation with other people in it, make someone else an admin there first. Taktyl will not delete your account until you do. See "Change a member's role, suspend or remove them".

Delete it

Select your name at the foot of the rail and choose Profile.
Choose the Danger zone tab.
Under Delete your account, select Delete account.
Type your Password to confirm. If your account has no password, for example because you joined through your LMS, nothing is asked.
Select Delete account.

You are signed out. A deleted account cannot be restored.

If you only want to stop working in one organisation, you do not need to delete your account: an organisation admin can remove you from that organisation instead.
